Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report discusses electrically very small antennas for wireless connection via reactive electromagnetic fields. The excellent characteristics of the antennas with optimally designed port impedances and load reactance have been verified by experiment. Loop antennas and inverted L antennas have been used for Resonance Method Lead by Magnetic Field and Resonance Method Lead by Electric Field, respectively. The experiment have been conducted at the frequency of $135.6$MHz, which is 10 times higher than the IMS band frequency of $13.56$MHz, with $1/10$ scale models. The conducting ground plane has been used in the experiments, which ensures the high precision and the conveniences of the measurements with a network analyzer. One half turn loops located on conducting plane at the communication distance of $0.1$m have shown power transmission efficiency of about $70\%$. The inverted L antennas at the distance of $0.015$m have shown that of $80\%$ or higher over a wide range of frequency. In addition, it has been observed in the experiments that the transmission characteristics of the inverted L antennas are not affected even if they are covered by a shield box, and that they are almost independent of the orientation of the horizontal parts of the antennas. These results implies the usefulness of the Resonance Method Lead by Electric Field.
