(in English) I would like to present our research and development on on-line handwriting recognition and user interface from the early attempts to the latest results while mentioning some episodes along the research and development. The contents consist of the environment of early days, concentration to on-line handwriting recognition, industry and academia collaboration, compilation of sample pattern databases, expansion to user interface and application research, budget acquisition, lessons learned from management and service and the latest pursuits.
