In recent years, MIMO technology for radar and sensing application has been attracting attention by researchers. In this report, we consider on Direction-of-Arrival/Direction-of-Departure estimation by using quasi-MIMO system in the presence of multipath environment. The quasi-MIMO system in this report means the alternative transmission of each element by RF-switch. In active sensing applications, each reflected wave is coherent, and then target/multipath wave detection becomes difficult. To overcome this difficulty, we apply so-called spatial smoothing preprocessings (SSP and forward/backward-SSP) and analyze the number of waves resolvable by them both monostatic and bistatic arrangements. |
