We introduce the latest result of "Development project of power-saving and high-performance optical I/O technologies project" corresponding to the trend of the standardization of 40GE/100GE, that is one of the sub-project of "Development of Next-generation High-efficiency Network Device Technology" promoted by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). This sub-project consists of four subthemes; (1)Very high-speed multiplexing and demultiplexing technologies, (2)Very high-speed analog front-end technologies in optical receiver, (3)Development of power-saving and very high-speed driver in optical transmitter, and (4)Large capacity signal converter technologies between LAN and WAN. These key technologies will contribute next generation switch and router and switch, LAN/SAN systems, and OTN transport networks. |
