(in English) The author started the life as a researcher in 1971 under Prof. Hiroshi Shimizu of Tohoku University, and was engaged from 1985 to 1996 in the research and education under Prof. Kazuhiko Yamanouchi of Research Institute of Electrical Communication of Tohoku University. The author has been engaged in the research and education in Tamagawa university from 1997. The research map over 39 years on applications of surface acoustic waves and elastic leaky waves to ultrasonic transducers, signal processing devices, micromanipulation and touch screen is described.
