Image restoration based on wavelet transformation and eigenspace-BPLP method and its evaluation

(in English) The Eigenspace-BPLP method with interpolating scratch region was proposed by Dr. Amano, et al. In this method, first, learning samples are gotten from original image region without scratch. Eigen vector and eigen value are obtained from the learning data by singular value decomposition. The whole image is reconstructed by estimating scratch region with linear combination of eigen vector. This paper presents a new method to combine the conventional Eigenspace-BPLP method and median filter in frequency domain. In the new method, after conventional Eigenspace-BPLP method is used to reconstruct low-frequency image data, image data is analyzed with wavelet transformation, and then, median filter is adapted to reconstruct high-frequency image data.
