ONU Optical Burst Signal Receiver for Optical Switched Access Network

(in English) To economically realize optical burst signal receivers for Optical Network Unit (ONU) in the Ethernet Optical Switched Access Network (E-OSAN), we previously implemented an AC-coupled and a DC-coupled one using off the shelf components, evaluated them, and then showed an AC-coupled one has better performances. This paper proposes optical burst signal receivers coupled by the n-th order transfer function Gn(s)=1－Hn(s), where Hn(s) denotes the n-th order Bessel filter transfer function. We present a design method for the proposed receivers and show performances of designed receivers. We clarify the proposed receiver has better performance than the AC-coupled receiver, and the larger order the transfer function has, the better performance the receiver has.
