We propose the usage of inter-target range measurements for improving accuracy on range-based localization systems, such as those based on Time-of-Arrival (TOA) and Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). The proposed method makes use of weights for all nodes, based on how accurate their locations have been estimated. We propose three methods for calculating weights, apply them to two popular location estimation algorithms, and compare their accuracy and speed, both theoretically and experimentally. Our results show that the proposed method offers a better location estimation accuracy than methods that only use anchor-target measurements, even for scenarios with few anchors. |
