Interactive Voice Interface for Eliciting and Estimating Implicit User Requirements in Home Network System

(in English) In Home network system, various appliances, sensors and user interfaces are connected to the home network.
Novel user interfaces are expected to control such appliances, instead of conventional remote controllers.
Voice user interface is one of novel user interfaces.
Especially, a mixed-initiative voice interaction system is expected to help effective appliance control with users.
However, there are several problems in application of such mixed-initiative voice interaction in HNS.
First, implicit requirements to appliances by users are not considered.
Secondly, complex and sophisticated voice interaction patterns must be implemented to realize such voice interaction system.
Furthermore, in many cases, the mixed-initiative voice interaction system bore users with redundant feedback.
In this paper, we propose interactive voice interface in HNS to elicit and estimate implicit user requirements.
We indicated usability of our voice interface to control appliances with implicit requirements by users through some comparative experiments.
