OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) can mitigate multipath fading. However, in mobile communication environments, a time-selective fading deteriorates the quality of communication significantly. To estimate fading fluctuation accurately, we have proposed an estimation direction switching scheme with adaptive switching of time-to-frequency estimation direction by estimating a fading speed and delay spread. However, in this scheme, there is a degradation caused by the time discontinuousness in OFDM frames. In this paper, we propose a scattered pilot-based fading equalization scheme which applies a time resolution improvement scheme that improves the performances of fading equalization by interpolating the fluctuation of impulse responses between consecutive OFDM frames to this scheme. The performances of the proposed scheme are evaluated by the computer simulations. |
