Activity of the Frontal Areas in Reaching Movements with Rotated and Delayed Visual Feedback -- an MEG study --

(in English) We have studied the brain activity during reaching movements under virtual reality environment in which relationship between vision and proprioception was tempo-spatially distorted to clarify which brain areas were related to planning and control of the movements. We have analyzed both the trajectories of reaching movements and brain activity using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). However, it is difficult to determine the changes during reaching movement because NIRS has low temporal resolution. In order to determine the changes of brain activity in short range such as in a reaching movement as well as in long range such as adaptation, we are going to measure brain activity using magnetoencephalography (MEG) which has high temporal resolution. Although it is difficult to use current position measurement system that consists of magnetic material, we are building up the measurement system using nonmagnetic materials to use concurrently.
