Several Methods of Curiosity-Driven Multi-Swarm Search

(in English) In this paper, we propose several methods of curiosity-driven multi-swarm search, i.e. multiple particle swarm optimizers with diversive curiosity (MPSOa/DC), multiple particle swarm optimizers with inertia weight with diversive curiosity (MPSOIWa/DC), and multiple canonical particle swarm optimizers with diversive curiosity (MCPSOa/DC). A key idea here is to introduce diversive curiosity and localized random search into the conventional cooperative particle swarm optimization for alleviating premature convergence and stagnation, and activating competition search. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods, computer experiments on a suite of 5-dimensional benchmark problems are carried out. We investigate the characteristics of these methods, and compare their search performance. The obtained experimental results indicate that the search performance of MPSOa/DC is superior to that by the other methods.
