(in English) In order to represent a non-Gaussian distribution resulting from statistical maximum operation accurately in the statistical static timing analysis using Gaussian distribution, an algorithm using Gaussian mixture models has been proposed. The statistical maximum operation in the algorithm uses a joint distribution estimated from given marginal distributions, and the probability of each Gaussian distribution in the joint distribution is calculated by ignoring a dependency generated by reconvergent paths. This paper evaluates the error caused by this assumption and proposes a method to calculate more accurate probabilities by using conditional probabilities. Experimental results evaluating this method are also reported.
