Analytical Evaluation of Average Switching Energy of Adders

(in English) As fundamental evaluation bases of VLSI circuits, there are the area, computation time (delay), and energy consumption. As before, many matters have been researched about the area and computation time. However, energy consumption of circuits has been increasing raised from progress of miniaturization. Therefore, it has been regarded as important to use energy consumption for a basis of performance evaluation of circuits.

In this report, we focused on switching energy, and evaluated that of some various adders. As a result, it was proved that the average switching energy of adders evaluated in this paper was proportional to each area.
