Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Previous experimental studies showed that neurons in the primary visual
cortex have four firing properties to represent visual information. Four
firing properties are named luminance gabor, oriented double-opponent,
concentric single-opponent, and concentric double-opponent receptive
fields. Previous theoretical studies demonstrated that redundancy
compressions can derive luminance gabor and oriented double-opponent
receptive fields from natural images. However, emergences of other two
receptive fields have not been reported. In this study, I show that a
low pass filtering property of neurons in lateral geniculate nucleus is
important to derive the concentric double-opponent receptive field in
addition to redundancy compression like Fast ICA.
