This paper reports comparative evaluations of the watermarking approach we previously proposed with four other methods. The proposed approach is based on the concept of embedding inaudible watermarks into an original sound by controlling its phase characteristics in relation to the characteristics of cochlear delay. They involve typical (LSB and DSS) and perception-based methods (ECHO and PPM). We experimentally evaluated the new method with the four others by carrying out six objective tests (PEAQ, LSD, LP-LSD, LLR, SSNR, and WSS), subjective tests, bit-detection tests, robustness tests (against down sampling, amplitude compression, and mp3-compression), and StirMark Benchmark tests. The results revealed that the proposed approach could embed inaudible watermarks into original sounds and could precisely and robustly detect the embedded data from the watermarked sounds. |
