We propose a new background subtraction method for extracting objects regions from an image observing
a cooking table. To detect an object with similar color to background, a method with background color
estimation, or a method based on texture difference is necessary. However existent methods estimate background
color using image level global parameters. This cannot dual with local illumination changes by shadows and secondary
reflections from a cook by the table. Also, texture based methods result in low resolution. This is problematic
when we need to extract a precise region for further tasks. Our method overcome these problems by using color
and texture information complementaly. Our experiment showed that our method can extract object regions more
precise than other exitent methods. |
