Measurement of frequency characteristics of sound speed and attenuation in underground with ground water

(in English) Underground constructions like tunnel need to measure current position for alignment checks. We are trying to measure the underground position with low frequency acoustic waves which propagate over long distances in underground with ground water. However, this method needs accurate acoustic characteristics in underground. To measure accurate acoustic characteristics in underground, we conducted an underground experiment of transmitting and receiving sound signals, and calculated sound speed and attenuation. In the result, sound speeds range from 1650 to 1680 m/s and attenuations range from 0.4 to 1.3 dB/m. Those results agree well with the theoretical values using Biot-Stoll model.
