Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Communication method has evolved to a two-dimensional way from a one-dimensional wired way through a three-dimensional wireless way. Moreover, BAN(Body Area Network), which restricts the communication range into the human body area, has also been actively studied. A near-field data communication method using the propagation of vibration is a technique for fulfilling two-dimensional communication and the short distance communication. In traditional wired communications, the conductor as a transmission medium to convey electric signals is necessary. While the vibration-based communication accepts an insulator as a transmission medium because it does not use electric signals to convey the data. In this paper, we will discuss the future possibility of vibration-based communications with some new ideas to realize the longer distance and speed-up communications using a motor or a forcereactor as a transmission part, and a photo sensor, a Wii Remote, or a piezoelectric element as a reception part.
