Design and performance of a microwave human sensor for safety in mechanical parking facilities
Takuya Takahashi, Fumihiro Naito, Masahiro Umehira (Ibaraki Univ.) USN2010-6
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A microwave human sensor to prevent the users from being locked in the parking facilities is necessary to reduce the operation cost of mechanical parking facilities. One of the biggest problems to use the microwave human sensor is to avoid the false detection caused by the disturbance signals such as the spurious signals from the fluorescent light and/or the vibration of the shutter. To solve this problem, this report proposes a microwave human sensor using the frequency domain signal processing and describes the design and performance of the proposed microwave human sensor. In addition, it proposes a M out of N detection method and overlap FFT for performance improvement and shows the performance evaluation results by experiments and computer simulation.
