Statistical Characteristics of Decision Variable for MAP Decoding

(in English) Computer simulations are widely used for an error probability estimation of convolutional codes. Few studies have been made for exact bit error probability of convolutional codes of more than 4-state. In this paper, an analytical approach presented for convolutional code with MAP decoding. Moments of decision variable are desired by the recurrence relations, and discussed with its probability density function, which leads to the exact error probability.
