(in English) In Japan, the number of FTTH subscribers has already reached 15millions and it is forecasted to increase at consistent pace. Recently, optical fiber breakages of outdoor drop cables have occurred in the west of the Tokai region. This happens because cicadas confuse a drop cable with a stem of a dead shrub and insert eggs into optical drop cables.
We have developed anti-cicada type outdoor drop cable with high strength jacket material.
Drop cable installation length is increasing rapidly, drop cable wiring complex is occurred. We have developed colored outdoor drop cable with UV resistant jacket for demand of the cable identification.
