In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the noise component superimposed on speech with keeping the formants and their transition geometrically by applying the bilateral lter on mel-fre-
quency spectrogram. From the word recognition experiments under the real noisy environment, we clarify
that the signicant improvement is achieved when the bilateral lter is applied on the mel-frequency spec-
trogram only once and resultant MFCC, energy and their Δ are utilized as the acoustic parameters. |
