A Study on Adaptive Wireless Distributed Coding using Superposition Coded Modulation

(in English) This paper proposes a methodology of adaptive coding based on extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) analysis for a joint channel-superposition coding in multiple access relay channel (MARC) over uplink amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying.
In this scenario, it is reasonable to consider the transmission model as concatenated structure of channel code and superposition modulation.
This consideration brings us to a joint detection with iterative manners.
However, when a bad quality link is included in the MARC, accuracy of information detection is severely deteriorated at the destination node.
To address this problem, we focus attention on mutual information of iterative behavior in EXIT analys.
The EXIT analysis reveals a mechanism to adaptively control optimum weighting factors in the superposition coding at the relay node with the aid of knowledge on channel state information in the MARC.
Numerical results given in this paper show the adaptive weighting factor control is effective in 80$\%$ or 90$\%$ channel realizations.
