Realtime 3D Morphable Model Fitting Method by Project Space Coordinate Model

(in English) 3D Morphable Model (3DMM) fitting is an excellent method for detecting 3D shape of an object from a 2D image. But, it takes a few minutes or seconds at one 3DMM fitting and this drawback prevents its use from real-time applications. In this paper, we propose a novel 3DMM fitting method. In proposed method, the model which is constructed from the project space data set is used, and the fitting method is developed by using AAM fitting method extended to 3D space. From the results of experiments, it has been shown that the proposed method successfully reproduced a photo-realistic 3D shape from a single 2D image at a real-time speed of 100ms.
