Study of BWPSR on Colorless ROADM Network

(in English) BWPSR (Bi-directional Wavelength Path Switched Ring) is an efficient protection scheme from the viewpoint of wavelength utilization. We proposed DA-BWPSR (Dynamic Assigned BWPSR)[1] to improve wavelength utilization. The number of protection wavelengths needed for failure recovery is equivalent to the number of failed working paths.
In this paper, we estimate the effectiveness of DA-BWPSR by computer simulations. And we propose the configuration of a Colorless ROADM and the sequence of failure recovery for BWPSR, and we also report the experimental result of the BWPSR sequence using Colorless ROADMs.
