The Cloud profiling radar (CPR) for the Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) mission has been jointly developed by JAXA and NICT for the launch year of 2013th. The CPR is the first space-borne W-band radar with a capability of Doppler velocity measurement in order to provide the vertical profiles of cloud structure and convection of cloud particles. This report describes the brief result of the CPR preliminary design study and engineering model test status. |
