The influence of blood flow restriction during muscle fatigue and recovery

(in English) Recently, low-intensity exercise training combined with KAATU training (restriction of muscular venous blood flow from the limb muscles) can result in significant and rapid increases in muscle size and strength in the arm and thigh muscles. This study examined how blood flow restriction influence muscle fatigue and muscle recovery. We measured changes in surface EMG during elbow isometric exercise at 20 and 40%MVC in blood flow restriction condition and non-blood flow restriction condition. Eight adult male subjects were examined. The result suggests that restricted condition’s influence is bigger low intensity exercise than the high-intensity exercise.
