Discriminant analysis of bipoalar disorder and monopolar depressive patients using tree-drawing test

(in English) In this paper, we present the method of distinguishing between patients with bipolar disorder and monoplar depressive, using tree-drawing test. This test, in which patients draw a picture of tree with nuts, has often been used in psychosomatic internal medicine as a conventional psychological test, and this test is useful to examine their mental state. We analyzed their pictures by an image processing method, and calculated the characteristic quantities. We also examined the discriminant analysis using those indices. As the result, we could distinguish between patients with monoplar depressive and bipolar disorder by this method.
