(in English) The use of wireless access networks, particularly such as IEEE 802.11
wireless access networks, is a promissing method to bridge economically the digital divide between urban areas and rural and isolated areas. This paper analyzes impacts of propagation delay on long-distance point-to-point wireless networks with IEEE 802.11 CSMA/CA protocol. Uplink and
downlink throughputs decrease with increasing the propagation delay, that is, with increasing distance between access points (APs). A Markov chain model is used to analyze the behavior of the IEEE 802.11 CSMA/CA binary exponential backoff algorithm. It is shown that slot time, RX-to-TX turnaround time, and CCA time affect the total throughput degradation caused by large propagation delay. When the propagation delay is less than 8~$\mu$s, theoretical throughput is in good agreement with the throughput
obtained from computer simulations performed by Qualnet 4.5.1.
