A Study on Automatic Network Building Method for Wireless Mesh Networks

(in English) We propose a system where multiple nodes build a Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) backbone cooperatively and autonomously. In this method, we hold two phases: the initial network building phase and the link measurement phase. We focused on the first phase. In the initial network building phase, each node detects and accommodates neighboring nodes, through advertising WMN information. As the result, a parent-child relationship is set up between the accommodating node and the accommodated node. The root node starts this process and other nodes continue the process to form a tree structure based on the parent-child relationships set up in each node. In this work, we discuss a method to from this tree. We show that it is possible to build a link-quality reflected initial network cooperatively and autonomously through experiments using the 12 nodes testbed.
