Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Active Phased Array Antennas have attracted attention for use as hopping spot beam antennas that might be used as electronically controllable onboard satellite antennas. A Ka band APAA is installed on the KIZUNA (WINDS) developed by JAXA and NICT. WINDS was developed to construct a high-speed satellite communication system and demonstrate the advanced technology. This paper describes the WINDS APAA configuration, functions, specifications, and communication experiment results.
