Proposal of Precise Positioning Method Based on Accumulated GPS Raw Data -- Basic study for a moving vehicle --

(in English) In these days, various driver assistance systems such as a collision mitigation system have been become popular, and the functionality to acquire precise vehicle position at a specific point such as an intersection in urban areas is required. However, the positional accuracy of GPS in urban areas is not adequate for the requirement of vehicle control. In urban areas, the reduced availability of GPS often occurs because of an insufficient number of visible GPS satellites. Moreover, a measured error of pseudo range such as a multi-path, effects the positional accuracy of GPS. This paper proposes the precise positioning method based on accumulated GPS raw data. Our proposed method virtually increases the number of visible GPS satellites by data accumulation. Therefore the proposed method enables to improve the availability and the positional accuracy in urban areas.
