Fault-Resilient Multiple-Valued Asynchronous Data-Transfer Scheme
Atsushi Matsumoto, Naoya Onizawa, Takahiro Hanyu (Tohoku Univ.) DC2010-15
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose an asynchronous data-transmission scheme which is robust against wire-fault on the communication links. Even if a wire-fault occurs, the quantity of data-transmission can be kept as same as it before the wire-fault by utilizing data representation of multiple-valued encoding which is defined on the rest non-fault wires. In other words, the capability of data transmission before and after the wire-fault can be maintained in the proposed scheme. Furthermore, to clarify the usefulness of the proposed scheme, the detailed mechanism of the proposed scheme through the three-wire data-transmission and its hardware implementation example by utilizing multiple-valued current-mode circuit technique are shown.
