Link aggregation platform enabling flexible traffic control in cognitive wireless networks

(in English) The cognitive radio network selects the optimal radio access network from those with different throughput, delay, and jitter for reconfiguration of radio equipments in order to satisfy users’ requirements and to improve frequency utilizations. However, there are the cases where throughputs in any available radio systems do not satisfy the requirements. In this case, it is effective to utilize the link aggregation technology by which multiple wireless accesses are integrated into a virtual link with satisfiable throughput. There is an issue that expected throughput cannot be achieved by simple functions for the link aggregation due to difficulties in determining traffic distribution ratio and dealing with retransmissions of lost packets. This paper proposes a link aggregation platform for cognitive radio networks with received packet order control and sequential transmission control functions. It is confirmed that approximately twice throughput of a single link throughput is achieved using two radio links with the same performance on the platform. Affects of throughput, delay, and jitter of radio links onto the link aggregation are also clarified.
