| (in English) | The smoothness embedded in the Minimum Classification Error formalization has an effect of increasing virtual training samples, which leads to the high robustness to unknown samples. However, a rational method for controlling the smoothness has not yet been developed. To alleviate this long-standing problem, we propose in this paper a new method for contolling the loss function smoothness through the Parzen kernel width estimation with the cross-validation maximum likelihood method. Experiments clearly show the high utility of the proposedmethod. | |
