It is important for renal hemodialysis patients to discover stenosis of shunted blood vessel at an early stage. An essential method to diagnose stenosis is auscultation of shunt murmurs. However, this approach depends on experience and skill. Therefore, the method to diagnose stenosis without dependence on the skill is discussed using objective characterization and classification of shunt murmurs. In this study, we characterize shunt murmurs with Haar wavelet transformation and classify them by self-organizing map. Comparing to the Gabol wavelet transformation, the Haar wavelet transformation has an advantage in the requiring memory size and processing time. |
