Virtual sound source reproduction perceived on different elevation and depression angles in multi-channel loudspeaker systems

(in English) To realize sound localization with high presence at different elevation
and depression angles, 8ch and 10ch loudspeaker arrangements are
proposed. We compare the virtual sound source reproduction achieved by
these two proposed arrangements to that achieved by the 3/2 arrangement.
First, the normalized square error (NSE) between real and virtual sound
signals are adopted as the metric of reproduction accuracy. Next, listening tests for sound localization on the horizontal plane and different elevation and depression angles are carried out. The results show that there is no large difference among the loudspeaker arrangements.
