Interference Mitigation and Capacity Tradeoff in CoMP with Limited Feedback

(in English) In universal frequency reuse downlink cellular systems, interference from neighboring cells degrade the system capacity particularly for user in cell edge area. Base station(BS) cooperation is a promising technique to mitigate inter-cell interference in multi-cell cellular network by coordination among BSs. With limited feedback, BS can maximize the capacity of edge user, which subject to the inter-cell interference, by informed the interfering BS to use precoding which generates least interference to the edge user. However, it can also resulting in significant reductions in the interfering BS's center user capacity. As in conventional single-cell beamforming, the interfering BS can maximize the signal power at a desired receiver. In this paper, the tradeoff between edge user and center user capacity is realized by using chordal distance metric to find the precoding for the interfering BS. In this way, we can achieve compromise between minimizing interference to edge user and maintaining good center user capacity.
