For infectious disease spread analysis, like SARS, the novel influenza, and the FMD (foot-and-mouth disease), we have used the SIR model via the differential equation method and the truncated model. Comparing the computational results by the SIR model with those by the truncated model, we suggest which model can be used in an earlier stage and a later stage of pandemics. |
