Development and Field Trial of Cognitive Radio with Automatic Channel Selection Utilizing Cooperative Spectrum Sensing

(in English) Reliable detection of other wireless systems is crucial for the systems that share the same frequency band. In wireless communication channels, there is uncertainty in the received signal level due to multipath fading and shadowing. Cooperative sensing techniques in which wireless stations share their sensing information can improve the detection probability of other systems. In this paper, the cognitive radio that automatically switches its frequency channels based on cooperative sensing results is implemented. The experimental results confirm that the implemented cognitive radio can enhance spectrum usage without harmful interference to the primary system.
