Species compositions of silver-nitrogen plasmas in temperature range of 3000-20000K were calculated by using the minimization of Gibbs free energy. The thermal physical properties of silver-nitrogen mixtures for five silver proportions were also studied. Those physical properties were imported to a MHD model to investigate influences of silver vapor on dc arc behaviors. The contours of temperature, potential and silver concentration when opening a dc 20A resistive circuit driven by a current source were also obtained. Finally, light density photo at the wavelength of 521nm emitted by atomic silver was taken to qualitatively validate the simulation result. |
