On the exact solution of Hallen's integral equation

(in English) Hallén’s integral equation is widely used to calculate the self impedance of dipole antennas. To solve it, numerical methods such as moment method, variational method and iterative method, are commonly used. The problem is that Hallén’s integral equation with approximate kernel has no solution. In this report, direct method to solve an integral equation using matrix derived from the kernel is proposed. A modification function which converts the approximate kernel to the exact kernel is derived. As the modification function diverges, a 3 points correction method which alters values of 3 points in a row of the matrix including the diverging point is proposed. Another problem is that there is no solution for a function source. Using the solution of offset feed by a function source, a problem with a finite feeding gap source is solved. Comparing the calculated result and the measured result, the validity of this theory is confirmed.
