This paper considers a theoretical analysis of optical orthogonal codes(OOCs) with multiple chip rates. In the previous studies on OOCs, the assumption of design with a common chip rate is required at all users in a network, then they must have fast optical transmitters and receivers which can detect short pulses even at some low-end users. To solve this problem, we proposed OOCs with multiple chip rates. This code satisfies the orthogonal property of the OOCs in spite of different chip rates. This paper shows the theoretical upper bound of bit error rate based on observation from a multinomial distribution where chip synchronization is assumed. In addition, we show the exact bit error rate analysis calculated strictly by probability density of received optical interferences pass through a chip gate after correlator at an expected user’s receiver in asynchronous consideration. Finally, the computer simulation results confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis by comparison. |
