With the spread of a screen leader, visually handicapped can get character information on the PC through synthesized voice. However, for visually handicapped, there is a little support for acquiring a graph and the shape. Existing devices are expensive. We discuss the experimental implementation that enables the user to feel the 2-dimensional information through tactile stimulation. The implementation is a construction of a touch-panel display for acquiring an absolute position directed, a vibration speaker for tactile stimulation and a PC for information processing. The user directs a place touching the point on a screen, and gets a tactile stimulation from the touching point directly. This direct action and reaction relation enables the user not only to understand the two-dimensional information, but also to feel. The implementation needs only general purpose parts. It is cheap and easy to use. |
