Improvement of Blocking Probability using FDL under Delay Constraint in OBS Networks

(in English) Preemption based QoS control has been studied in the Optical Burst Switching (OBS) field. In this method, a high priority bursts preempts a low priority burst when the former has no available wavelength. As a result, this method can improves the loss rate of a high priority burst although the loss rate of a low priority burst deteriorates. In order to cope with this problem, we improve the Preemption based QoS control using Fiber Delay Line (FDL). In our proposed method, a high priority burst primarily uses FDL when there is no available wavelength in order to avoid preemption. However, since FDL causes burst delay, we limit the use of FDL to some QoS class. Considering some applications and their QoS requirements, we evaluated our proposed method by simulation experiments and show the effectiveness of our method.
