As an index of physical effects of acoustic cavitation, acoustic energy radiated by cavitation bubbles has been numerically calculated. In most cases, most of the acoustic energy is the energy of shock waves radiated from collapsing bubbles. Numerical simulations have been performed for various ambient and acoustic pressures. The results of the numerical simulations have indicated that the optimum ambient pressure which maximizes the acoustic energy radiated by cavitation bubbles per acoustic cycle increases as the viscosity of the solution and the acoustic pressure increase. |
