[Poster Presentation] A Study on Channel Shortening Using Semidefinite Relaxation for OFDM Systems

(in English) The performance of OFDM system degrades due to interblock interference if the length of channel impulse response longer than that of CP.
To solve this problem a channel shortening scheme using TEQ is useful.
It is known that a channel shortening scheme known as MERRY algorithm can't shorten a channel properly when there are null subcarriers in the system and the length of channel impulse response is long. In this paper, we propose a new channel shortening scheme which is not affected by the number of null subcarriers. The proposed scheme that uses SDR maximizes the minimum FFT output corresponding to a data subcarrier under a constraint that makes FFT outputs corresponding to null subcarriers zero. We confirm the effectiveness of our proposal by computer simulation.
