A Fundamental Study on Ultra-Wideband BPF with Attenuation Poles

(in English) A new type of compact wideband BPF which consists of shunt parallel-coupled lines and two transmission lines with an inbetween capacitor coupling is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the circuit analysis is performed by using equivalent circuit of the BPF. As a result, the proposed filter has four ripple peak frequencies at the passband and attenuation poles at the stopband. It is shown that by changing the couplings between the parallel-coupled lines, the attenuation poles can be controlled. The optimized BPF has a low insertion loss, a sharp skirt characteristics and 130% fractional bandwidth.
