Development of the digital receiver for wind profiler radar using GNU Radio

(in English) Turbulent mixing at small scales in the lower atmosphere is an important process contributing to energy dissipation and vertical transport of heat and materials. We have been developing an Imaging Wind Profiler (IWP) which enables us to observe the detailed structure of turbulence in the lower atmosphere. A transportable wind profiler (called LQ7) is an active phased array radar using seven Luneberg lens antennas. It has the center frequency of 1357.5 MHz and the peak output power of 2800 W and is located at the Shigaraki MU Observatory. We plan to modify LQ7 to realize IWP. We are developing digital receivers to enable Spatial Domain Interferometry (SDI).
